Michael Douglas' Son Dropped from Movie
We can't for the life of us figure out why the producers of the film "The Beautiful Outsiders" would drop Cameron Douglas from the movie as both an actor and associate producer.
Unless of course it's the whole "could face life in prison on charges of selling meth" thing.
Whatever the reason, Andrew Jones, the director and producer of the film, released a statement today saying Douglas is done with the project, saying, "The serious nature of the allegations means it is highly unlikely that Cameron would be able to travel, so it would be impossible for him to be in the UK for filming. And with charges of this nature hanging over for him, it would be very difficult for us to get insurance for him." Douglas faces a mandatory minimum of 10 years in prison and a maximum period of life.
Man he's an idiot!! "dumber and dumberer"
LeBron Explains Dunk Fiasco Finally
The NBA's reigning MVP finally breaks his silence on the "Dunkgate" scandal. You member!--when he got dunked on "!!OOOOHHHHHHH!!"

The King has spoken. Finally.
In an exclusive interview with the National Association of Black Journalists Sports Taskforce — who, fortunately for us, includes Yahoo! Sports NBA columnist Marc J. Spears — LeBron James(notes) spoke candidly for the first time about getting dunked on at his Nike skills camp over the summer, the handshake snub hullabaloo following the Cavaliers loss in the Eastern Conference finals, Shaquille and more.
Here are some quotes straight from LeBron's mouth to Spears' notebook to your computer screen.LeBron on "Dunkgate":
"I never told anyone to confiscate any tapes. Nike has a no videotape policy at pick-up games. They've always done that. Now that LeBron is involved, it's blown up. It's a play that happens in basketball all the time. You can go on YouTube and see me being dunked on by a lot of guys. I like to call myself a shot blocker and [getting dunked on] tends to happen. Jordan Crawford is going to be a good basketball player ..."
LeBron on the last game vs. Orlando:"I wouldn't have done it the same. I would have done the media. Looking back on it, without you guys, there's no LeBron James, D-Wade, Tiger Woods or no Peyton Manning. If I could have started over again, I would have done the media. As I thought about it I could see why people were talking about because your job starts when mine ends.
"But as far as the dunk or whatever car I'm driving, some things you shouldn't comment and some things you should. I look at the no handshake like this — during the regular season, no one ever shakes hands. You move on to the next game. I congratulated Dwight Howard(notes) through email and told him good luck in the Finals. Shaking hands is not a big deal to me. It's not being a sore loser, it’s moving on. Sometimes people want you to accept losing and I'll never accept losing."

LeBron on playing with Shaquille O'Neal(notes):
"Wow, anytime you can get a guy like that. I was asked [by management if I] would you like him to be a part of this team and I said, 'Of course. I've never had a low-post presence since I've been in the league. I'd love it.'
"I can defer to a teammate. If Shaq is going, I'm OK. I know one thing that's going to happen; you can't check Shaq one-on-one. I can use some of my athleticism when a double team comes and slash to the rim. He's a very good passer so he'll just throw it at the rim and I'll go get it. This will benefit 'Z' [Zydrunas Ilgauskas(notes)] because he can go against second-tier guys. Shaq will be very big for us. I can be more of a threat. No matter if I catch it I can spot up and I'll still have a live dribble. I don't have to settle for taking a shot. Instead of dribbling the ball up where guys can pressure me. If I'm catching the ball out of double teams from Shaq, I can become a shooter. Now I can drive."
And finally, LeBron on whether he'll be back in Cleveland:
"I hope so. I signed a contract in 2006 with a three-year extension to leave my options open. Hopefully everything works out. I'm not ashamed of anything in Cleveland ... I'm looking forward to this season and we'll see what happens."
Politics led to Twitter attack
Attackers took down Twitter to silence one person!!
New and disturbing details about Thursday's world wide Twitter outage point to a single, coordinated attack targeting just one person: an outspoken Georgian blogger who goes by the handle "Cyxymu." Also affected: millions of other Twitter users.
According to CNET NEWS.COM, which got its information from a Facebook security executive, it appears that Cyxymu's Twitter, Facebook, LiveJournal, and Blogger accounts were attacked simultaneously in a massive denial-of-service attack. Facebook, LiveJournal and Blogger were able to ward off the attack for the most part, but the assault brought Twitter to it's kness for much of Thursday.
The culprits still haven't been identified, CNET reported, although an Internet traffic expert quoted by the New York Times said the attack came from Abkhazia, a territory along the eastern coast of the Black Sea that's in dispute between Russia and the Republic of Georgia.
And why was Cyxymu—a pro-Georgian blogger who "has long been viewed as an antagonist by some Russian supporters," According to The Resgister—targeted? "To keep his voice from being heard," the Facebook exec told CNET.
Here's what I find so chilling about yesterday's Twitter attack: that these guys, whoever they are, apparently thought nothing of taking down an entire communications network because they didn't like what one person was saying.
Imagine if someone didn't like what you were saying, and decided to shut you up by nuking your ISP, or your wireless carrier. Or heck, the entire phone system. All for you.
Personally, I can survive a morning without telling my legion of followers (all couple hundred of them) that I could really, really use a cup of coffee right now. (Although I know you're all dying to hear about that, right?)
I'm far more disturbed by (as the Facebook exec told CNET) "the disregard for the rest of the users and the Internet" displayed by these brazen thugs and their crude, indiscriminant attacks.
Shaq ups the ante for volleyball match with May-Treanor, Walsh!
A few weeks ago we told you about Shaquille O'neal's new reality show , "Shaq Vs.," which debuts Aug. 18 on ABC. To refresh your memory, the series pits Shaq against other top athletes — Olympic swimmer Michael Phelps, Cardinals slugger Albert Pujols and Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger, which was recently filmed — in their own respective sports.
Filming continues this Sunday, when Shaq plays pro beach volleyball players and two-time Olympic gold medalists Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh on the sand. And while the best-of-three games to 11 should be entertaining on their own, Shaq decided to up the ante during a press conference yesterday, claiming if he loses, he'll walk two miles in a pink speedo.
Yes, that's right. If — or is it when? — Shaq and his teammate, Olympic gold medalist Todd Rogers, lose to May-Treanor and Walsh, "The Big Witness Protection" will march the beaches of California wearing nothing more than a pink Earl Boykins-sized piece of nylon and spandex.
Feel free to shudder now.
According to Adam Rose at Laist, the "Scary Shaq Speedo Showdown" will take place at the end of the AVP tournament in Hermosa Beach, which starts today and runs through the weekend. Shaq's match is free to the public (assuming there's space) and is scheduled to begin following the men's final on Sunday around 3:30p.
I would tell you to go and take pictures, but ... well ... don't. I really-- really hope he wins!
J.R Smith Shuts Down His Twitter Account Due To Controversy
Hours after The Denver Post raised questions about whether his tweets were written in a way commonly associated with street gangs, Nuggets guard J.R. Smith pulled the plug on his twitter page on Tuesday. He presumably didn't think it was worth all the bad publicity.
His last message to fans before it was closed late Tuesday afternoon: "ok people i love all of my fans im sorry but this will be my last tweet you know why but it is what it is love all an tke Care"
Smith's tweets raised print eyebrows after someone noticed he was occasionally replacing words that would have a "C" in them with a "K," giving some the impression of an association with the Bloods street gang. (Kudos for the capital "C" jab above, kid.) Smith tried to correct the issue in a tweet late Monday night, but ultimately decided to close the account, according to Denver Post.
This unfortunate news comes on the heels of NFL'er Antonio Cromartie being fined $2,500 for using twitter to complain about food at training camp and a new memo prohibiting ESPN personalities from tweeting info unless it serves the ESPN agenda.
Sadly, it appears as though the days of "unfiltered access" via Twitter, Facebook and Ustream are behind us.
Except for Marbury, of course. Ain't nobody puttin him in a box!L.A. Film Festival

Eminem has once again gone back to the seemingly endless well of celebrity disses and pulled out a new diatribe directed at Mr. and Mrs. Nick Cannon.
The reason (not that he's ever needed one) - he's firing back at Mariah Carey's recent Slim Shady-channeling video for her single, "Obsession."
In "The Warning," Eminem raps:
"I got the exact same tattoo that's on Nick's back, I'm obsessed now, oh gee, is that supposed to be me in the video with the goatee?"
He goes on to gloat about the time Mariah "was wild 'n' out before Nick" and when he himself gave Carey "somethin' to smile about." Wow.
This all started, we think, because Carey has made light of her reported relationship with Eminem back in 2001, and the rapper is clearly pissed.
Eminem gave Carey a shout-out in his recent tune "Bagpipes From Baghdad," which included a pointed suggestion to Cannon to "back the f*%k up."
Cannon responded in May that "homeboy is still obsessed with my wife."
A few days later, Eminem implied to listeners of the satellite radio show he was hosting that he had once urinated on the superstar. On purpose. That's just nasty!
More from "The Warning"
"You probably think if I had something on you I woulda did it by now, on the contrary, Mary Poppins, I'm mixing our studio session down and sending it off to mastering to make it loud, enough dirt on you to murder you, this is what the f--k I do..."
"Mariah, it ever occur to you that I still have pictures?"
Oh, boy. "But if I'm embarrassing me, I'm embarrassing you and don't you dare say it isn't true," he continues later in the track.
"As long as the song's getting airplay I'm dissing you, I'm a hair away from getting carried away and getting sued, I was gonna stop at 16, this is 32, this is 34 bars, we ain't even a third of the way through."
Bottom line? Don't expect to outlast Eminem in a feud. Damn Eminem's comin out the candy wrapper.
